I'll tell you a funny story on Curries. I love curries. And i am such a sucker for them. When i was pregnant with Hamza, back during the times when I could barely see my feet due to my protruding belly, i was cravinggg for curry. Not just any curry - i wanted those Nasi Kandar kind of curries. With the fried chicken all. Obviously, i couldn't get any. I didn't want to make it such a big deal, i knew i had to be somewhat realistic with my cravings.

But Azhar, being the nice husband that is, suggested to cook it for me. I am blessed to be married to a very kitchen friendly man. He loves cooking, and when he does, ill always make sure i eat something light before meals because he actually cooks for soooo long. Confirm lose in masterchef if he ever joined haha. So he cooked me curry.

After what felt like half a day- dinner was served. I remembered eating it, chewing it and swallowing it down and an instant heaty feeling i felt in my throat then tummy, it was just tooo strongggg! And i had like so many different kind of seeds on my gravy from the curry, gosh what were theyyy! Out of all days he wanted to try a recipe , it had to be on the day when i was craving for one! I couldn't eat any further as i felt a reflux waiting to happen, i laughed so hard cos Azhar hardly gets things wrong in the kitchen, and he kept apologizing for it. I vowed to never ever have curry for my entire life ( yea right ) after eating his, even strongly declined every time he suggested we'd go to an indian resto for dinner after that for months!!

It really was, that bad.

But anyhow. He sorta redeemed himself yesterday by making me this deliciousss beef curry. It was just exactly how i imagined his curry to be. He cooked me once way back then - this time, the spicyness was on point! Tweaked the recipe a bit and added birds eye chillies and cooked them together with the herbs. Just perfect!

So happy to finally being okay with curries haha - so this deserved a blog post.

My little syakh turns 6 months today, thats him with his Mak Deq at the clinic today to accompany her for a quick check up, and as he happily sleeps next to me now as im typing this on our bed - yes we co-sleep, and yes we try it as safely as possible, its a lot easier with this whole breastfeeding game going on -  i thought i'd blog about how his introduction to solids went.

We gave him avocadoes and half of a kids sized banana.

To which half portion of it happily went to the floor. We decided to attempt baby led weaning to him. To which you can read about here :

I had this strong feeling Hamza was ready for it when he reached 5 months. He kept imitating our lip movements everytime we chewed on something - but of course we waited til he turned 6months to be safe.

He went straight into it! Which was sooo amazing, he isn't so good with his fingers yet but slowly getting there. I thought of introducing him to diff textures of food so his transitioning into adult food wouldn't be so hard on him.

I also think i should get like a floor mat for his free giveaways to the floor. Haha saves cleaning and mopping.

So sleepy, write more soon.
