cooler than the flip side of my pillow;

just one of those days where work gets so intense, all you want to do is be home, in the comfort of your bed and pillows, you wish for the world to just keep moving and leave you behind.

" ever realize that one thing we subconsciously ask Allah , everyday, every minute, every breath ? "
-" em..to have our dua's granted? "
" not quite. thats close, but not accurate,"
-" em..for forgiveness? "
" nop.."
-" hmm...im not quite sure,"
" we ask Him to give keep us alive a little longer,"
-" what? "
" subconsciously, without even realizing, we pray that we live a day longer, we ask, or more precisely, assume that He'll lengthen our stay in this world. we hardly think about the fact that He can probably take our lives anytime. rather, we hope more that tomorrow will come, regardless, "

it is pretty sad to see how some people think they are always better than others, just because they are 'seemingly' practicing a part of the sunnah. having a beard, does not guarantee you paradise. not listening to music does not make you any better when all you ever have in your heart is how others are too low for your islamic intellect that you gained in a few months. wearing perfect muslimah clothing does not save you a spot in jannah if your heart is only filled with bad thoughts about others. surely, having all those qualities, practicing them makes you a muslim, and by the 'zahir' makes you better when it comes to filling in the one or two of the requirements of entering jannah, but remember, it takes more than just clothing or outward appearances.

just because a sister struggles her way reading the quranic verses, doesn't mean you the fluent one are better than her. her efforts in reading them whole heartedly could at anytime outdo your riak you have in your heart reading them infront of others. just because a brother does not have a beard, doesnt mean he is any lower , his late tahajjuds or qiyam ul lails could easily overtake your outward appearance if all you ever think of is how great you are having just that one sunnah ticked off.

be careful, of being judgmental. be careful, everytime you hear that whisper inside yourself saying how others are so ignorant in things, and why they don't do what you do, thinking you're the only one that gets it.

like the story of Prophet Khidr and Prophet Musa (as), it taught us how to not judge a person by the zahir. because surely, we know nothing when it comes to others intentions. The act of Prophet Khidr damaging a boat that belongs to the villagers seemed cruel, but when asked by Prophet Musa (as) regarding his intentions, he explained that he did it only to save the villagers from their boat being stolen by a cruel king.

fix yourself before trying to even judge others with their ways.

may Allah grant us understanding, the right 'ilm, the right character and the right intention of living the sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammad saw.
