safe at home

the world is currently facing a pandemic as im typing this, a virus called Covid19 or more simply known as Coronavirus is out causing chaos amongst us all.

basically the whole world is almost on shutdown mode. increasing number of deaths, a lot of people getting sick and not knowing from where or from whom they got it from. at this point we are told to stay in our homes, not go out, and just stay calm.

times like these its hard not to panic. how will our normal be after this? would we ever recover from this scary times?

you cant help but to reminisce on the times where taking a walk was taken for granted, or taking the kids out to the park. now all these simple things are being restricted, stripped away from us, but alhamdulillah for a roof over our heads, a fridge filled with enough food and meals for the next couple of days, for good health, and for calmness in ourselves.

i also couldnt help but to think of those who are much less fortunate than us. when their day to day is being disrupted by this, resulting in job loss, and hardly any food to feed their families. i pray Allah make our lives a lot easier, calmer, and may we all have enough to get through this.

alhamdulillah the kids have no clue to whats happening.  i havent sat down with them to explain to them the situation. A part of me wants to. but another part of me hesitates. maybe because seeing them in their normal makes me feel somewhat normal. not that i think it will change them if they knew whats happening, but i also think its good to make them aware. Hamza is probably old enough to understand things. They are completely oblivious to things, happily jumping on couches and gathering dining chairs making a fort as im typing this ( oh hello new mama with this new life of blogging while the kids are ACTUALLY awake! Thanks to television haha ).

In a way, i am grateful for this obliviousness they carry with them. they just never complain whether we're inside so much or outside so much, either or. they just always make do with whatever they have infront of them. and for that, i am thankful.

my mind wanders off to our front liners at this moment fighting this pandemic. how are they feeling? how are their families? have you ever felt so helpless in trying to help others?

i say a prayer for each and every one of us, may Allah ease our affairs, may He keep us safe and protected, and may He forgive us for everything we've done to ourselves, uplift our spirits, and grant us patience in this time.

Stay safe everyone, and stay home. Lets not say we're stuck at home, instead, we change it to " we're safe at home,"
