hard hearts;

there's something about praying in an open field that makes you feel small.
i've always enjoyed being in an open space.
like the beach, or at a park, or a football field.
there's something about space that makes me feel small, and for some weird reason, i love feeling small.

i came across the picture above, and though it had nothing to do with me, for some reason, i felt calm.
there are things in life that makes your heart at ease, and i think its important to notice that.
knowing that hearts were made by Allah, there are things to which this heart recognizes when its placed  in a position where its used to.

hearts were made to love Him.
placing it in those that relates to Him, gives this heart ease.
it feeds the heart for which we deprive it of for a long time.
the feeding of a deprived heart comes from constant, remembrance ( dhikr ) towards the Almighty, Allah swt.

praying in an open space makes me feel small.
it makes me realize how huge this world is, how mighty is Allah's power to create earth, the skies, the galaxy,
how insignificant, i can be.

and yet there are days where we walk on earth so proud of what we've achieved,
thinking we are better than others out there.

today, adelaide was at a scorching 46degrees.
apparently, making us the hottest city in the world.

melting while waiting for the bus is an understatement. i was literally drowning in my own pool of sweat.
subhanAllah, such heat you gave us today.

Ya Rahman, may we be spared with your Mercy, keep us safe with You.

it was too easy to be agitated today.
too easy to lose temper.
too easy to snap at others.

if only we remembered that every single one of us is fighting a battle within ourselves that no one else knows,
if only we remembered that all everyone wants is validation,
if only we remembered that the Prophet Muhammad saw was always kind to people who were kind to him, and even kinder to people who weren't,

remember that love kills hatred,
love, always, always wins.
it might take time, but it always wins.

so be kinder, softer, and humbler with our approach with others.

we need all the love we can get :)
