we are told that they are not willing to get any lesser than what they put in. they expect more for what they initially invest, plus, a premium price for any higher risk they associate themselves with.
share price changes are influenced by so many factors. direct and indirect. while it is probably difficult to predict spot on on what the prices of shares would be like in the future, interested investors or the public would have their own views towards movements of share price, besides the views of a broker.
price fluctuations are not what investors would want. though it happens, but they prefer stability, and they expect that their expectations are being met. they expect for the amount they put in, they should be getting a lot more if not at least the amount they initially invested.
and then apparently, the golden rule of, the higher the risk associated with an investment, the higher the expected return.
everyone expects to get back what they put in. and it only seems right. basically, no one invests in something with the thought of, ' it doesn't matter the outcome. if it grows, it grows, if it doesn't, then its okay.' well unless your Trump, but mind you even Trump would want his one dollar worth of investment back if need be.
the expectation becomes more important when an investment into something involves value.
its hard to train yourself to switch on and switch off certain types of behavior towards certain things. its just much more easier and highly more logical to have a standard way of life or a way of thought that could address to everything in one manner.
to not want to expect something out of the things we do takes practice. its a grueling process that can either exhaust you, or make you stronger.
im not saying that we should invest in something and not expect anything out of that investment. im just saying, that we should invest in something, and not expect anything out of that investment.
but of course. the word 'value' and 'investment' is highly subjective.
