I love this,

It was nerve wrecking. Right when I felt the adrenaline rush in my system, I knew this is the one thing I'm going to stick with til years to come. I'm weird that way. I love that kind of anxiety. I kept wondering yesterday, how the hell I got myself into this new passion I have. How? I can't remember. Being active in athletics right from primary school probably explains why I'm more of an outdoor than indoor. Perhaps, also, having an awesome dad who loves adventure plays a big role as well. We ( my brother and I ) started really young, really young. From Uncle Casey's 9-8-4-8-0-2-1 camping trips to school trips.

So I told you I wasn't into this whole climbing competition, truth be told, I only really decided to join during the journey to shah alam that sunday morning, with Fash and Amoi. ( Angah that was why I didnt call you back thinking you wouldnt want to waste your whole day under the hot sun with me and watch others climb and not me :p ) We were told the routes were a killer, somehow, I told myself to just go for it. Experience sake, no? Winning or losing is not the point, I wanted to know what it'll feel like to be in a competition. To meet others and to risk looking like a fool to others. Haha.

To my suprise the crowd was big. Huge. Gy-normous.
Big moth sized like butterflies were already flying in my stomach. Some were familiar faces, some were new, but we made friends, so it was cool. I wore the number 9. Dad's favourite number, so I thought maybe it should bring me luck.

So there were other 20 women in my category ( Novice ), and I was the 9th to climb. Amoi was the 10th, and Fash the 11th.

I was really nervous, so as you can see, that was the last hand hold I managed to hold on to. I slipped, and that was that.
The redtape was the starting point, place both hands on both hand holds, and the game is considered on. After that, was Amoi's turn.
And after her was Fash. The guy beside me is Efan. ( Tengok I baik promote you kat sini ), Efan is such a nice guy ( ehem ), he was such an angel for that day for holding onto my things for me while I climbed. I was hoping for Ida ( his gf ) to join us, but she only came later on with my so-called twin ' Cahaya '. Efan calls me ' Mentol ' now. Efan has a cute friend, A* (ehem) , a story for another day.

And so, after our climb, we hung out for a while. My family came over to watch me climb, but left after that. I decided to stay on to watch the final.

After much eating and resting, we then made our way back to the wall, only to find a lady coming up to us,

" Ada nama Raja tak kat sini? Amalina ke? Tolong check nama kat wall sana, korang masuk final, "

Okay, at that point I knew I was as good as dead. I ate a LOT, and I wasn't in my climbing mood anymore, how am I suppose to climb again?

But I had great supporters, though my family went back early without knowing I qualified into the finals, Efan, Fash, Farah, Daus, Nas they were all there for me. K Farah & Abg Zul too if you remember my hiking trip from past entries.

Efan's cute friend A* gave me great useful tips before my climb, that made a whole difference :) Nak tengok gambar dia? Pergi dekat blog Efan, and make a wild guess which one :P. Lalala~

SO OKAY,

I won 5th place, came home with a medal, and 50rm.

Not bad for a first-timer ? 2 month plus of climbing paid off, I guess :) I'll post my climb video during the finals once I have them with me.
