Geezelle R.

She walked with her hands in her pocket. Almost hugging her own body to keep the cold from biting her. Even her thick jacket couldn't do justice towards this harsh weather. Head down, she knew she could walk pass this pathway with her eyes closed. She's been walking down the same path for almost two years now. Routines, were one thing she loathed. For some reason, this particular routine was one of the few she find hard to get rid of. Probably, deep down inside, she knew she needed this. Maybe she's just too afraid to admit that she needed this walk everytime her memory starts haunting her.

Break this. She whispered to herself. Break this routine. Make something happen. She wonders what good will it bring to her now, consoling herself with words she already knew, when for the past years, it barely worked on her. Nothing does. She sometimes wonder if this remedy would surpass her will to erase everything else.

She continued walking with her head down. She need not see where the path will take her, she already knew all that. That is whats killing her. Knowing where it takes her. Suddenly she hit something hard. Shocked, she looked up.

" I'm sorry, thought you should be reminded how important it is to look where you're going " he said.

Still shocked, she rubbed her head. Not that she could feel much,

" I dont have to, " she found herself saying,

  " Pardon me? "

  " I dont have to. I know where I'm going. "

" Ah, a damsel in distress, I see. " he chuckled.

" You dont know what you're talking about," she gave him a cold stare

" No, I dont. And I'm sorry. I'm Ryan, " he offered his hand,

" And I'm someone you dont want to know, " she replied and walked away.

She continued walking. This time faster than before. Head down, she did not smile. It was who she was, she told herself. Ryan, she thought. She did not feel sorry for what she did. There was no need to. Insignificant, was what he was.

Insignificant, is what everything else is.

To be continued.
