I went to watch my school compete. For an ex-krs-ian, I still find myself quite passionate when it comes to marching. I'm all for rhythmic marching. The process of learning the steps, the amount of non-stop practice we had to execute, was not easy. We spent hours, and hours on practicing the formation, from early morning, til late night.
Back then, I didn't appreciate it as much. I now learnt how the whole process was all about teamwork. How each and every one of us are important to the team. One mistake by a fellow team mate could jeopardize the whole team.
We didnt mind the heat we had to tolerate with wearing ever so thick uniforms, with heavy boots and gloves. It was all about the team, the whole performace that mattered. Gone were the glory days of hartamas. We made it big.
If there was one mistake that we did, it would be for not passing down the spirit of teamwork we had to these younger brothers and sisters of ours. But they did well. I was still proud of them, especially that young prince in between the rest :) , the apple of mummy's eyes. Oh please.

It felt like it was just yesterday that I left high school and stepped into the real world. Back then, the victorious taman tun-ners would always catch our eyes and attention, us being rivals, we always wanted to be better than them, but until today, their confidence and determination is still unbeatable. Some day, maybe. Some day.
Like always, the event would end with a performance from the oh-so-famous marching band of Victoria Institution. I smiled to myself how back then, these boys would be one of the many reasons why I'd never say 'no' to watch the marching competition. Looking at them now, I go, 'okkkayy laa, so-so', ego, ego.
All this VI reminds me of romeo. What a joke lah.
Ranya, dont laugh. :P
